Largest prenatal yoga class: China breaks Guinness World Records record
BEIJING, China -- A total of 1,443 pregnant women recently gathered in Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and five other cities across China and simultaneously practised group yoga under the watchful eye of the instructors, thus setting the new world record for the Largest prenatal yoga class (multiple venues),
according to the World Record Academy.

The Guinness World Records' record for the largest prenatal yoga class involved 553 participants and was achieved by Shenyang Madein Women's and Children's Hospital (China) in Shenyang, Liaoning, China on 10 May 2015.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most nationalities in a yoga lesson; it is 106 and was organised by International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) (India), in Kolkata, India, on 13 August 2015.

Organisers said their main goal was to break the world record but they also wanted to show pregnant women how yoga can improve their fitness levels and therefore make the birth "go smoother".
The previous world record was set by 553 participants in Shenyang, Liaoning on 10 May, 2015.
