   Largest display of illuminated Christmas trees: Hallmark Channel breaks Guinness World Records record

  NEW YORK, NY, USA--Hallmark Channel officially broke the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the largest display of illuminated Christmas trees, with the lighting of 559 Christmas trees in New York City's Herald Square, according to the World Record Academy.

  The Guinness World Records' record for the longest Christmas cracker pulling chain consists of 798 people, achieved by Youth SVP (Ireland) in Waterford, Ireland, on 15 December 2014.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest Christmas tree structure; it is 127.99 m (419.91 ft) tall and was achieved by Energisa Sergipe - Distribuidora de Energia S/A (Brazil) with a creation presented in Aracaju, Sergipe, Brazil in December 2009. The structure was decorated with 25,200 redhot lights and 3,144 strobe lights.

    Candace Cameron Bure, star of the new Hallmark CHANNEL original movie, A Christmas Detour, premiering November 28th, flipped the switch, brightening the network's colorful, 4,000 square foot long tree maze.

   In addition, all trees will be donated to the Educational Alliance Boys & Girls Clubs of New York City.

    Countdown to Christmas premiered on October 31st and features 24/7 holiday fare, including 17 new original movie premieres.

   Hallmark CHANNEL will also unveil its inaugural THANKSGIVING Weekend Event featuring an unprecedented 5 consecutive nights of new original movie premieres from Wednesday, November 25th - Sunday, November 29th.
