Most watermelons on a single watermelon plant: Tianlong 1508 breaks Guinness World Records record (VIDEO)
BEIJING, China -- A Chinese watermelon plant just broke a Guinness World Record by sprouting 131 enormous fruit, with each melon weighed an average of 10 kilograms, or 22 pounds; Zhengzhou Research Seedling Technology Co., Ltd., a Chinese agricultural technology company, created the mass-producing plant, codenamed "Tianlong 1508", which sets the new world record for the Most watermelons on a single watermelon plant,

The Guinness World Records world record for the heaviest watermelon weighs 159 kg (350.5 lb) and was grown by Chris Kent (USA) of Sevierville, Tennessee, USA, as verified by the Great Pumpkin Commonwealth on 4 October 2013.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most watermelons smashed with the head in one minute; it is 43 and was achieved by Tafzi Ahmed (Germany) at the Rose Festival event, in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, on 27 May 2011.

Each melon weighed an average of 10 kilograms, or 22 pounds, and the whole lot took only 90 days to mature after planting.
Zhengzhou Research Seedling Technology Co., Ltd., a Chinese agricultural technology company, created the mass-producing plant, codenamed "Tianlong 1508."
While typical watermelon plants only yield between one and four fruit, the research team gave some extra TLC to Tianlong 1508, making sure its vines were untangled and it received a daily dose of temperature-controlled water mixed with fertilizer.
