Longest broadcast of a goal: Ilie Dobre sets world record (Video) BUCHAREST, Romania -- Ilie Dobre, sport commentator at Radio Romania News, (Romania's National State Radio), broadcasted a 27 seconds-long "gooooal" shout during the European League match Gaz Metan Medias vs KUPS Kuopio-Finland - seting the world record for the Longest broadcast of a goal (without respiration), according to World Record Academy (www.worldrecordacademy.com).
The Guinness world record for the Longest career as a radio presenter/DJ (male) was set by Herbert "The Cool Gent" Rogers Kent (USA, b. 05 October 1928) has been a regular radio presenter/disc jockey since 1944.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the longest-running radio programme by the same host is Folksong Festival hosted by Oscar Brand (Canada, b 7 February 1920) which was first broadcast on 9 December 1945 on WNYC Radio and continues to do so today airing on Saturday evenings from 10-11pm on AM 820.
The previous (unofficial) world record was 19 seconds, set in Argentina.
"I'm doing this for about 30 years, almost 1300 games, " said Ilie Dobre.
"My commentary broadcast on Radio Romania has the longest duration even if I make it withour respiration, so I knew I can set a world record for this broadcast."
He has broadcasted live soccer matches fron the national league, european matchs, games played at final tournaments, World and European Championships.
"I listened soccer matches broadcasted live at radio and Tv in Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Mexic, Spain, Portugal, Italy, England, Germany, Egypt and I noticed that their commentators can't match my brodacast of a goal."
He has also set the world record for the Longest broadcast of a goal with respiration, with a 42 secons-long goooal shout during the game between national teams of Romania and Bulgaria, of the preliminaries of the European Championships of Football on September 2nd, 2006, when player Ciprian Marica scored.
Dobre said he never have had any rpoblems with his voice, simply because he "doesn't smoke, don't drink alcohol and cold water."
Radio sport commentator Ilie Dobre also published over 40 sport-related books.
He has received a National Award from the Romanian President.
