536 students, organized by a group of senior prefects on their last day at Westfield Academy, let off their party poppers on the netball courts, setting the new world record for the Most people popping party poppers,

The current Guinness world record for the greatest number of people simultaneously popping party poppers stands at 453 which was set in the United States.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most party poppers popped in one minute: 51, achieved by Milena Vladimirova Tsekova (Ireland) at an event held for Sportingbet MLB Ltd at the Guinness Storehouse, Dublin, Ireland.

Out of 565 students who took part in the world record attempt, a total of 536 pupils successfully let off their party poppers.
Chris Hunt, principal of Westfield Academy, said: "I think it's a brilliant idea. "Throughout the year the senior prefects have got to have a project to work on.
"Last year, project X was a music video to Reach for the Stars. This is project P for party poppers."
The students thanked Yeovil Hire Centre and ASDA who donated all the party poppers, and the invigilators, which included members of Yeovil Lions Club and The Urban Warriors, who are associated with the Gateway Church.
