Longest conga of people wearing wellies-world
record set by Bicton students
DEVON, UK -- 208 students and staff from Bicton
College wearing waltzers have achieved a world record for
the longest conga of people wearing wellies.

was part of many ‘Welly Wednesday’ events taking place at
the Devon college as part of Welly Week, a national fundraising
event launched by The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution
(RABI). (enlarge

Students from all disciplines including Equine
Studies, Animal Care, Horticulture, Countryside, Agriculture
and Outdoor Leisure joined up with staff, children from the
on-site nursery, Saplings, and pupils from Barley Lane School
to form the conga which made the shape a giant welly.
Agriculture Lecturer Sam Walker said: "We are
astonished by the level of animation this has produced in
our students, many of our courses involve welly wearing, so
Bicton College was the ideal place to hold a world record
attempt."
Students also organised a “welly wagon” (tractor
and trailer) toured Budleigh Salterton collecting for RABI,
and the Welly Olympics featuring welly wanging, a wet welly
slide, welly sheep racing and tractor pull (wearing wellies).
In the evening, there was a Welly Disco.
