Largest human Christmas tree: Honduras breaks Guinness World Records' record (VIDEO)
Tegucigalpa, Honduras -- Honduras has created a new world record for the biggest Christmas tree formed by 2,945 people at the Democracy Plaza of the Presidential House in the capital, Tegucigalpa; among the 2,945 people who participated in the feat, those dressed in green and red gave shape to the Christmas tree, while those in yellow formed the star-shaped light on top, setting the new world record for the Largest human Christmas tree,

The previous Guinness World Records' record for the largest human Christmas tree consisted of 1,982 participants and was achieved by the Fiesta Nacional de la Navidad (Argentina) in Leandro N. Alem, Misiones, Argentina, on 29 November 2013.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest human star; it consisted of 2,458 participants and was achieved by Nu Skin (China) in Phuket, Thailand, on 24 April 2013.
Among the 2,945 people who participated in the feat, those dressed in green and red gave shape to the Christmas tree, while those in yellow formed the star-shaped light on top.
The tree remained motionless for over six minutes after which the participants joined in the Christmas festivities held by the government.
The ceremony was attended by Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez, who promoted the initiative, accompanied by his two daughters; Legislative Assembly Chairman Mauricio Oliva and other officials and special guests.
The inauguration of the celebrations was marked by performances from renowned artists and musical groups from the country, food and Honduran handicrafts.
