The Guinness World Records' record for the Tallest teenager living (male)was set by Brenden Adams (USA, b. 20 September, 1995), whose height is 225.1 cm (7 ft 4.6 in).
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the Tallest woman - living; it was set by Yao Defen (China) recorded an average height of 233.3 cm (7 ft 7 in) when last documented.
The 17-year-old likely has Weaver Syndrome, according to Guinness World Records, but that doesn't stop her from enjoying her unique height: 'I like being different from everyone else.'
"It's one of my biggest dreams to be awarded with this record," Gelgi said. "I know that only the special people can make it and I know I'm one of them now."
Her rare genetic disorder causes rapid growth, but thankfully, she's not expected to get any taller. She relies on a walker to get around. Her lanky height makes it hard to keep balance.
"I like being different from everyone else," Gelgi added. "It's interesting and makes me feel special."
In addition, Gelgi's hands measure at 9.6 inches and her feet, at 12 inches, which is close to a U.S. shoe size 15 for men.
