Greatest height to control a football: John Farnworth breaks Guinness World Records record (VIDEO)
   
   Widnes, UK -- A football freestyler has broken a world record held by Lionel Messi for Greatest height to control a football by controlling a football from 32 metres (104ft); John Farnworth set the record in Widnes, near Liverpool after being inspired to take on the challenge set by the Barcelona legend, according to the World Record Academy.

 The Guinness World Records world record for the Greatest height to control a football was set by Jamie Redknapp set by a 18.6 m (61 ft 9 in) kick. This record was inspired by an appearance by Lionel Messi on a Japanese tv show. Messi managed to control the ball from a height of 18 metres (59 ft).

    Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most people dribbling a football (soccer ball) simultaneously was 2,068 in an event organized by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency Gaza Field Office (Palestinian Entity, West Bank-Gaza) in Rafah, Gaza Strip, on 14 July 2011.


    The 29-year-old was fascinated with footballing tricks since reading the book 'Learn to play the Brazilian way' when he was a teenager.

    Last year Farnworth enjoyed a dream to Barcelona's training facilities to practice with Brazilian icon Neymar.

    The talented trickster, already holds four Guinness World Records, including the most around the worlds in a minute.
