Tallest stack of pancakes: Food Network UK sets world record
LONDON, UK -- Staff from TV show Food Network UK spent the weekend cooking, flipping and stacking a whopping 725 pancakes
to reach a 32-inch height tower - setting the new world record for Tallest stack of pancakes.
The previous Guinness world record for the tallest free-standing stack of pancakes, consisting of 672 pancakes, measured 74 cm (2 ft 5 in) and was made by Krunoslav Budiselic (Croatia) at Hotel Toplice, Terme Catez, Slovenia.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for Most people tossing pancakes: 405, achieved by Bram Zwiers in Almere, Netherlands.
Some 253 eggs, 11lbs of flour and more than 26 pints of milk went into the World's Tallest Stack of Pancakes, which took the team 13 hours to make.
Nick Thorogood, managing director of the entertainment channel, said: 'One of the greatest aspects of British Food is its tradition and the celebration of events such as Pancake Day.
'We wanted to celebrate this year's Pancake Day with something a little different and what better way than to create a giant stack of pancakes!'
