Most cookies baked in one hour: Irish redheads break Guinness world record (PICS)
CROSSHAVEN, Ireland -- The good folk from the Irish Redhead Convention, along with help of Hassett's bakery in Carrigaline, have broken a Guinness World Records' record for the amount of cookies baked in a single hour; they baked 4,695 Ginger Nut Biscuits in one hour, with 16 bakers, setting the new world record for the Most cookies baked in one hour,
in aid of the Irish Cancer Society, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/.

The Guinness World Records' record for the Most cookies baked in one hour was set by a bakery in Otawa, Canada, with 1809 cookies baked in an hour.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most people dunking cookies at the same time; it is 1,503 people and was achieved by Oreo Argentina (Oreo is a Mondelez International brand) at Parque de la Costa, Tigre, Argentina.
Hassett's Bakery, Carrigaline and the Irish Redhead Convention have attempted to break the Guinness World Records' record for the most amount of cookies baked per hour.
In total they baked 4,695 Ginger Nut Biscuits in one hour, with 16 bakers.

Everything had to be done by hand from mixing ingredients, to piping. No machinery was used.
The Guinness World Records' record is currently standing at 1809 and was set in Otawa, Canada in 2011.
All the biscuits will be sold with 100% of proceeds donated to the Irish Cancer Society.
