  Largest gingerbread house: Texas breaks Guinness World Records' record (VIDEO)


 
BRYAN, TX, USA -- The world's biggest gingerbread house has been constructed in Bryan-College Station; it was built by the Texas A&M Traditions Club using 1,800 pounds of butter, 7,200 eggs, 7,200 pounds of flour and 3,000 pounds of brown sugar; it breaks the Guinness World Records' record for the Largest gingerbread house while raising funds for St. Joseph's Hospital

 The Guinness World Records' record for the largest gingerbread village consists of 157 buildings and was constructed by Jon Lovitch (USA) and displayed at the New York Hall of Science in Corona, New York, USA.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the longest gingerbread; it was 1,052.3 m (3,451 ft 5 in) long and was achieved by Stefan Koch and Konrad Friedmann (both Germany) in Ludwigsburg, Germany.

  The World's Largest Gingerbread House was built by the Texas A&M Traditions Club using 1,800 pounds of butter, 7,200 eggs, 7,200 pounds of flour and 3,000 pounds of brown sugar.

  The Largest Gingerbread House in the World contains a whopping 36 million calories.

  Traditions Club Executive Chef, Michael Menchaca, lead the baking team to success.

  The previous Guinness World Records' record holder was 36,600 cubic feet and was built inside the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota.

  WORLD'S LARGEST GINGERBREAD HOUSE INGREDIENTS

   1,800 pounds of butter
   2,925 pounds brown sugar
   7,200 eggs
      225 gallons of molasses
   7,200 pounds all-purpose flour
   1,080 ounces ground ginger
      720 ounces ground cinnamon
      360 ounces baking soda

   # ICING
      417 quarts egg whites
      4,165 pounds powdered sugar
         125 ounces cream of tartar

   # CANDY
      2,500 pounds of candy

     = 35,823,400 CALORIES

  All money raised from visitors will all be donated to St. Joseph's Hospital.

  The house will be up until December 14 and open from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday. Santa will be available for photos at this time.
