Largest crab steamer pot: Chinese City breaks Guinness World Records record(VIDEO)
BEIJING, China -- Panjin city made a giant pot to steam crabs; the special pot was 2.3 meters high, 1.5 meters deep and has a diameter of 6.6 meters and weighs a whopping seven tons; it was used to steam crabs, thus setting the new world record for the Largest crab steamer pot,
according to the World Record Academy.

The Guinness World Records' record for the largest crab cake is 136.08 kg (300 lb) and was created by Handy International Incorporated (USA) in Timonium, Maryland, USA, on 1 September 2012.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the Largest collection of crab-related items, set by Darren Martin (UK), who has a collection of 441 crab-related items, as of 9 March 2011, that he has been collecting for over 10 years. Dr Martin did his doctorate on Zinc and Cadmium in the haemolymph of the shore crab, Carcinus maenas. The steamer was so big a crane had to be used to lift up its wooden lid.
The special pot was more 21 feet wide and nearly five feet deep and was fitted with a giant lid and steamer insert that held hundreds and hundreds of live crabs.
After they were steamed, they were dished out with tongs to the hundreds of gawkers who came to see the world's biggest pot of steamed crabs.
Organisers are hoping the event will bring more tourists to the area.
