Largest cannoli - world record
set by Giulio Pistolesi and Scott Wilkinson
TOWN OF NEWBURGH, N.Y., USA -- Giulio Pistolesi
and Scott Wilkinson fried a 123 pound, 7-foot-long cannoli
in a parking lot outside the Cake Bin bakery in the town of
Newburgh - setting
the new world record for the Largest
cannoli.

They had a couple of shells baked ahead
of time to try to get a jump on things, but those broke during
initial preparation.
So the two and several assistants quickly
rolled and fried up a new shell — seven feet long. Friends
and family, politicians and a priest were among the spectators.
As the shell was frying in the parking lot
outside Pistolesi's bakery — the Cake Bin on Route 17K — the
Rev. Bill Scafidi blessed it. "Now it's a holy cannoli," quipped
spectator John Ferri of Marlboro.
Wilkinson drives a truck, but he also bakes
on the side and even has a business — Mr. Cannoli. Perhaps
you've seen him at your local fair or carnival.
Wilkinson says Guinness World Records didn't
have a previous record for Largest
cannoli, but told the pair they would consider an
entry if it came it at over 110 pounds.
