Longest drawing by an individual: Edmund Chen breaks Guinness world record (VIDEO)

SINGAPORE -- Former MediaCorp artiste Edmund Chen is now a record holder for creating the world's longest drawing by an individual; he single-handedly completed a drawing that is 601.255 metres long at event partner ITE College East, exceeding the previous Guinness World Records' record of 411 metres held by a Mexican artist

The Guinness World Records' record for the most people dot-to-dot drawing simultaneously in one location is 6,057 and was achieved by National Integrated Forum of Artists and Activists (India) at New Grain Market, Karnal, Haryana, India.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most people chalk drawing simultaneously; it involved 5,391 participants, in an event organised by EURÓPA Közhasznú (Hungary) in Andrassy Street, Budapest, Hungary.

Mr Chen chose to end the drawing with a golden koi as it represents a symbol of unity, determination and the need to swim against the odds to succeed.

Mr Chen said this is a milestone of his life -- in addition to marriage and fatherhood.

He said: "I feel very overwhelmed, and I really can't describe all the emotions I have now. But I feel that being able to share is living the moment. If you have dreams, your life will be colourful. And if you have ideals, you will feel motivated. I hope everyone can live healthily and happily, and we can continue sprinting forward."
